Instant Pot Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon is a quick and cozy breakfast that’s full of warm flavors. This creamy oatmeal, infused with cinnamon and sweet apples, is perfect for busy mornings or weekend brunches.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup steel-cut oats
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, additional diced apples, raisins, or honey
Instructions:
Prepare the Instant Pot:
- Add the steel-cut oats, water, almond milk, diced apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt to the Instant Pot. Stir well to combine.
Set the Instant Pot:
- Close the lid and set the vent to “Sealing.”
- Cook on Manual/Pressure Cook mode at high pressure for 4 minutes.
Natural Release:
- Once the cooking time is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes. Afterward, carefully release any remaining pressure manually by turning the vent to “Venting.”
Stir and Serve:
- Open the lid and stir the oatmeal to combine all the ingredients. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Serve warm in bowls and add your favorite toppings like chopped nuts, extra diced apples, or a drizzle of honey.
Tips:
- Use rolled oats instead of steel-cut oats for a quicker option (reduce cooking time to 1 minute on high pressure).
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated with a splash of milk.
- Add a scoop of protein powder after cooking for an extra boost of nutrition.
