Instant Pot Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon: A Warm, Cozy Breakfast

Instant Pot Oatmeal with Apples and Cinnamon is a quick and cozy breakfast that’s full of warm flavors. This creamy oatmeal, infused with cinnamon and sweet apples, is perfect for busy mornings or weekend brunches.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, additional diced apples, raisins, or honey

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Instant Pot:

    • Add the steel-cut oats, water, almond milk, diced apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt to the Instant Pot. Stir well to combine.
  2. Set the Instant Pot:

    • Close the lid and set the vent to “Sealing.”
    • Cook on Manual/Pressure Cook mode at high pressure for 4 minutes.
  3. Natural Release:

    • Once the cooking time is complete, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes. Afterward, carefully release any remaining pressure manually by turning the vent to “Venting.”
  4. Stir and Serve:

    • Open the lid and stir the oatmeal to combine all the ingredients. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
    • Serve warm in bowls and add your favorite toppings like chopped nuts, extra diced apples, or a drizzle of honey.

Tips:

  • Use rolled oats instead of steel-cut oats for a quicker option (reduce cooking time to 1 minute on high pressure).
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated with a splash of milk.
  • Add a scoop of protein powder after cooking for an extra boost of nutrition.
