Ingredients:

- 1 large egg
- ½ cup buttermilk (or whole milk)

For Dipping Sauce (Optional):
- ½ cup ranch dressing
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prep the Pickles:
- Drain the pickle slices and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
2. Make the Breading Mixture:
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
3. Prepare the Batter:
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg and buttermilk together.
4. Coat the Pickles:
- Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk mixture, then coat it in the flour mixture.
- Shake off excess and place on a plate.
5. Fry the Pickles:
- Heat oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep skillet or fryer.
- Fry pickles in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
